Step into heroes’ shoes

STUDENTS from a Berwick school dressed up as everyday heroes in honour of the emergency volunteers involved with the Black Saturday fires.
St Catherine’s Primary School held a community action day on Friday 27 March in support of the Mirboo North CFA.
The school raised $2100 for the brigade with the students in grades prep to six dressing up as firefighters, police officers, nurses and doctors.
The students donated a gold coin to take part in the event.
Teacher Paul Sharp said the students participated in a parade and enjoyed a barbecue lunch.
“They also got the opportunity to listen to guest speakers including a police officer, a paramedic and a CFA volunteer,” he said.
