Appeal night

A BERWICK woman is rounding up the troops for an upcoming fundraising night for the victims of the Victorian bushfires.
Gai Robb told the News that despite the many fundraising efforts to date, she felt she wanted to do her bit to support the families affected.
“I know a lot has already been done but the communities need so much more help as time goes by,” she said.
“These people have to re-build their lives and replace absolutely everything in their communities.”
The 55-year-old is calling for local businesses to jump on board by donating items for a silent auction at the Boogie Relief Fundraiser held at the Berwick Football Club on Friday 24 April.
“We’re hoping to get restaurant meal vouchers, weekend trips away and sky diving packages,” she said.
The event will run from 7.30pm to midnight.
Tickets cost $25 and include finger food and entertainment by band Highway 31. Drinks are at bar prices.
All of the money raised will be going to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.
