VICTORIA Police are trialling an information kit to help educate residents about personal safety.
The kit will provide information to residents about how to prevent and report community-based crime such as family violence, burglary, property damage, vehicle theft, neighbourhood disputes, fraud and cyber crime. It also contains information about registering home parties with the PartySafe initiative.
Former rugby league player Peter Robinson, a recent victim of home burglary, helped Victoria Police launch the kit on 23 March.
Victoria Police hopes the kit will make residents more aware about how they can help to reduce community-based crime.
The pro-active kit will be piloted for 12 months in the south east, before police look at rolling it out across the state.
