CREATIVE youth from Grade 5 to Year 12 entered artwork in Casey Creations Creative Arts Competition.
More than 350 students from 47 schools in Casey entered work in the visual arts and photography categories.
The competition winners were announced by councillor Amanda Stapledon at a ceremony attended by the winners and their families and friends.
“I would like to congratulate each one of the entrants for their effort, their willingness to participate, and for sharing their artistic vision with us,” she said.
“They have all contributed to a positive image of young people in our community, and the City of Casey congratulates all the entrants and winners.”
The competition was a fantastic opportunity to showcase youth’s talent, City of Casey youth and family services manager Lee McIntosh said.
“It provides a chance for young visual and photographers to practise and demonstrate their skills, to share their particular ways of seeing the world, and to enrich us all with their insight and imagination,” she said.
The competition was split into age groups and in each merit awards, encouragement awards and a winner was announced, chosen by a judging panel of artists and experts.
