Anzac day in Berwick

BERWICK RSL members expect a large crowd on Saturday, 25 April, for the Anzac day commemorative events in the village.
The major focus is the 11am requiem service at the cenotaph in High Street, following a march from the RSL hall.
A dawn service will be held at 6am at Narre Warren civic centre.
The Anzac day services acknowledge those who died fighting for their country.
Through prayer, observing a minute’s silence, and the laying of wreaths, participants will remember the men and women who made the supreme sacrifice.
People wanting to lay wreaths will need to register at the cenotaph by 10.30am. The Roulettes will perform a fly-past at 11.02am.
Badges are on sale in Berwick and Narre Warren this week and have been distributed to schools and aged care facilities.
All are welcome to attend Saturday’s events.
Berwick RSL is also conducting commemoration services in aged care residences and schools before and after Anzac day and is providing schools with background information.
