Crime on site

A NEW online news site will keep residents informed of crime in the City of Casey.
The site includes a message from the local police inspector about police issues in their suburbs.
On the website, Inspector Andrew Miles said police in Casey were currently targeting opportunistic crimes such as theft of and from motor cars, burglaries, and we are also working to address public order issues.
”We have dedicated vehicle theft reduction and burglary reduction investigation teams within the Casey Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) to tackle opportunistic theft,” Insp Miles said.
“We have also made significant progress in having members proactively target areas that intelligence reveals have high volumes of opportunistic crime. It is pleasing to see that property crime is down 7.1 per cent”
