Fire fund-raising queen

A BERWICK woman has raised $3,500 by holding a fund-raising night last week for the victims of the Victorian bushfires.
Gai Robb told the News that despite the many fund-raising efforts to date, she felt she wanted to do her bit to support the families affected.
“I know a lot has already been done but the communities need so much more help as time goes on,” she said.
“These people have to re-build their lives and replace absolutely everything in their communities.”
The 55-year-old held the Boogie Relief Fund-raiser at the Berwick Football Club on Friday 24 April.
Guests won prizes on the night including restaurant vouchers, bottles of wine, cosmetic packs, plants, and signed Hawthorn Football Club memorabilia.
All of the money raised from the event will be going to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.
