NEW Narre Warren Probus club president Betty Boal was presented with her collar of office last week.
Ms Boal said it was a great honour to be president of the club, which caters to local retired residents.
“There is something for everyone,” she said. “We have speakers who come speak to us on different subjects, we have craft groups, arrange special trips, and organise a variety of other things that are of interest to the members.”
Ms Boal said that as president, she hoped to stimulate Probus members’ minds with an article she writes every month for the club.
“I think it is important, especially when you are retired, to keep your mind active,” she said.
“The first article I wrote was about communication. Hopefully it allows everyone to bond, which I also think is important for retirees.”
