History and seasons feature

CASEY residents with a passion for the arts or who have interest in history will enjoy two new exhibitions on display at the Civic Centre Art Space.
Mirrors on the Season by award winner Di Lockwood features a range of printmaking techniques, including a collagraph over monotype print inspired by the recent bushfires, and a dry point collage celebrating Spring.
Ms Lockwood operates her own Gallery, Libran Dogma Gallery in Narre Warren. She has won several awards for her work, such as the People’s Choice Award at the Postcards from Mornington Peninsula exhibition at Oak Hill Community Gallery.
The second exhibition, A Journey Though Time, is a collection of historical objects from the Berwick Pakenham Historical Society.
It will include children’s games, toys, Casey memorabilia, a menu from the Centenary of Berwick Shire Dinner in 1968, and an evening fan once owned by Lady Casey.
The displays will be on until 28 May at the Civic Centre Art Space, Council Offices in Magid Drive, Narre Warren. Entry is free and most artworks are available to purchase.
A free copy of the 2009 Exhibition Program brochure is now available from Council’s Customer Service Centres, or by calling 9705 5200. The exhibition program can also be viewed on the City of Casey website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/arts.
