Knife gang stab warningBy Kelly Yates

A NARRE Warren man was rushed to Casey Hospital last weekend after being stabbed by a youth in daylight while walking his dog.
Detective Senior Constable Mark Wiederhold said the man was walking through Sweeney Reserve in Berwick on Sunday at about 10.30am when the random attack occurred.
The 22-year-old, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the News he let his boxer dog off the leash near the storm water drain at the reserve.
“There were three male youths riding their bikes and my dog went up to one of them and started sniffing him and the boy began to kick the dog,” he said.
He then approached the youths in an effort to scare them, pushing one of the youths onto his back.
To the victim’s surprise, one of the other youths stabbed him in the abdomen three times with what police believe to be a small pocket knife.
“It was so painful and I was shocked by the amount of blood,” he said.
Det Sen Const Wiederhold said the youths fled the scene on their bikes in the direction of Darling Way.
The victim, who has since been released from Casey Hospital, said he was worried to think that youths were carrying around weapons.
All of the youths are described as Caucasian and aged between 15 and 16 years.
Det Sen Const Wiederhold said one of the youths was slim build, had thick blond hair and was wearing a red baseball cap, coloured board shorts and a white Fox T-shirt.
He was riding a white BMX bike, according to police.
One of the other youths had dark short hair in a possible mohawk and was wearing a black Bonds singlet and black shorts.
Police are calling for any witnesses to contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Wiederhold on 5991 0667.
