POLICE are on the hunt for a nine foot tall green alien statue stolen from a Hallam business last weekend.
Constable Gordon Exner from the Narre Warren police station told the News the thieves cut through a wire fence to break into Topp Party Supplies.
He said the thieves cut off the leg of the fibreglass statue to remove it from the Hallam South Road property.
Staff at Topp Party Supplies discovered the missing statue on Monday morning.
Employee Debbie Ponton said the statue had been named Jeff by a retired staff member.
“Everyone knows the green alien when they drive past. He’s been with us for years,” she said.
This is the first time the statue has been stolen.
Anyone with information is urged to call Constable Gordon Exner from the Narre Warren police station on 9705 3111.
