MONTHLY morning teas are held at an Endeavour Hills school as part of its community cultures group.
The initiative started at Southern Cross Primary School about three years ago, with parents from different cultural backgrounds coming together to talk about the growth of their children at the school.
According to teacher Dr Andree Rodwell, the social gathering not only strengthens relationships within the school community but also gives the teachers an opportunity to meet with the parents to promote teacher and parent chats.
Dr Rodwell said the parents found the sessions productive.
“There’s a lot of laughter and most importantly many friendships have been made,” she said.
