MORE than 15,000 trees, shrubs and groundcovers were given to Casey residents last week for Arbor Week.
Thousands of Casey residents took advantage of the eight-year running free plant giveaway at Westfield Fountain Gate and Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centres. The event forms part of the community-based Growing a Green Web program which revegetates open space through volunteer involvement. City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said by planting Casey residents were helping contribute to a cleaner and greener future for the environment.
