Citizens disarm teenager

A scissor-wielding teenage male was disarmed and held by four citizens after a collision in Narre Warren last week.
A police spokesperson said that at about 4pm on Thursday, 4 June, the 15-year-old was driving a stolen car along Fernwood Road and collided with a parked car.
“He failed to stop and continued until he came to a dead-end street in Summerlea Road,” he said.
The spokesperson said the male then abandoned the vehicle and was pursued by four people who had witnessed the initial collision.
“The male then produced a pair of scissors and wielded them at his pursuers,” he said.
“One of the four citizens used a nearby tree limb to disarm him and he was held him until police arrived.”
One of the boy’s captors was struck in the arm with the scissors, causing a minor injury.
Police are investigating the incident.
