PEOPLE interested in music and the arts can express their interest in joining a new committee to set up a music eisteddfod in the outer south-east.
The plan is to start a festival to cover the City of Casey, Shire of Cardinia, and City of Greater Dandenong.
The Dandenong Festival of Music and Art for Youth has traditionally been the centre of annual music and arts competitions for young people, but the festival is closing this year, after 62 years. A new music festival based in Casey would be for adults as well as for youth, the proponents say, and this would enable musicians to continue to showcase their talents.
A meeting is planned for 14 June in Endeavour Hills to form a committee to begin the planning.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting can call 0400 357 227 or email seme.vic@gmail.com for more details.
