AFTER last year’s success, Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens will host another ArteFACTS professional workshop this month.
The workshop will be presented by Museums Australia and will provide custodians of private and community photographic collections with professional training and advice.
The workshop, titled Digitisation of Collections, will be delivered by Museum Victoria’s community collections training manager Euan McGillivray.
It will focus on sustainable ways to introduce digitisation projects into community collection practice.
It covers digitisation principles, the equipment and management needed for digital items and will help participants understand the differences and similarities between digitisation for preservation and digitisation for access.
Public program and exhibition officer Angela Costigan said the workshop offered a unique opportunity for people with an interest in preserving heritage to learn from one of the museum industry’s finest experts.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday 24 June from 9.30am to 4.15pm and is restricted to a maximum of 20 participants.
Cost is $45 per person, which includes notes, morning and afternoon tea and lunch. Bookings are essential.
