Two dead in fog

A 21-year-old Endeavour Hills man was one of two people killed as thick fog caused mayhem on the Princes Freeway on Tuesday.
The horror morning began with a double fatality between Soldiers Road and Clyde Road around 7am.
A police spokesman said a White Toyota Corolla Seca, travelling east, veered onto the wrong side of the freeway, smashing into two cars and a truck travelling west.
The Endeavour Hills man was the driver of the Toyota. His passenger, believed to be in his mid-teens, was also killed.
Pakenham SES spokesman Shayne Honey said that one man was ejected from the car, while one of the deceased was trapped in the vehicle.
“There was extensive damage to the car, which had apparently rolled,” intensive care paramedic David Kervin said. “A 47-year-old man from the second vehicle was quite shaken. He was assessed by paramedics but wasn’t taken to hospital.”
Narre Warren Police are investigating the collision along with the Major Collision Investigation Unit.
