Helping to plan

A FREE event planning seminar will be held next month and all community event organisers are welcome.
The ‘Event Management- Expand your Skills’ seminar on Wednesday July 1 will feature guest speakers from the City of Casey’s Environmental Health, Building Surveying, Traffic Operations and Events teams as well as the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation and Consumer Affairs.
City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the event planning seminars were an opportunity for community event organisers to receive advice about event planning and preparation.
“Event organisers will be able to learn about the importance of project management in planning events and will receive some tips about the best methods,” Cr Ablett said.
The seminar will discuss topics including traffic and car parking management, Place of Public Entertainment permit applications and other important aspects of community events.
City of Casey Manager Arts and Leisure Robyn Bowen said the free seminar is a fantastic opportunity for people to network and discuss relevant and similar issues.
The seminar will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the City of Casey Civic Centre, bookings are essential.
For details call the City of Casey on 9705 5200.
