The fact is the Endeavour Hills volunteer has been donating his time to the Endeavour Hills Cricket Club for nearly 30 years.
Mr Anning told the News he loved being involved with the local club, starting as a player and then taking on roles such as coach, secretary, treasurer and president.
“During the cricket season I normally work at the club seven days a week doing jobs from stocking the fridges to helping out with the registrations,” he said.
“There is always something to be done.” The 54-year-old currently holds the title of secretary and treasurer at the club.
The Endeavour Hills Cricket Club has around 70 senior members and 140 junior members.
Mr Anning said he enjoyed the social aspect of being part of the club.
“I will continue to volunteer my time for as long as I keep on enjoying it,” he said.
“Giving everyone the opportunity to play a game of cricket is a great feeling. It keeps the kids active and off the streets.”
Mr Anning said he has always had a soft spot for sport, working in the AFL finance area for 17 years.
