Red Cross lunch

By Lia Bichel
HALLAM Red Cross members joined others from region 8A at an annual fundraiser at the Tooradin Sports Club last week.
About 130 people attended the event, which was hosted by members of the Hallam Red Cross and Cranbourne Red Cross units.
They had lunch, mingled, and enjoyed a fashion parade put on by the Cranbourne Red Cross Shop. Regional chairperson Jennie Coventry welcomed guests and the guest speaker was the emergency services co-ordinator of the Red Cross Gippsland Region, Brian Soall.
He spoke of his experience and the Red Cross involvement during the devastating Black Saturday bushfires. He brought photographs of areas taken before and after the fires.
“We were very pleased with the event,” Hallam Red Cross secretary Betty Keen said. “It went very well.”
