Rotary rolls for research

Inner Wheel was established many years ago for the wives and daughters of Rotarians.
Despite women now being able to join Rotary, there are still successful Inner Wheel Clubs in many countries.
President of the Rotary Club of Dandenong East, Howard Davis attended a meeting at the Narre Warren Club to present the donation.
President of the Inner Wheel Club of Narre Warren, Kerrie Bentley said it was marvellous to receive these funds from the Rotary Club.
“It’s a huge amount that we don’t have the capacity to raise like they do,” she said.
Inner Wheel has been raising funds over the past eight years for research into the use of cord blood.
Chemotherapy or irradiation can often destroy or deplete patient’s blood cells. If this occurs then cord blood can be transplanted to assist in reproducing different types of cells.
