Fun scraps for kidz klub

THE Casey Kidz Klub Crop Day is set to be an annual event after volunteers raised more than $1500 at this year’s fundraiser.
Local resident Denise Van der Veer combined her passion for scrap-booking with a wish to raise money for young people in need when she organised the event in May.
Ms Van der Veer said she thought it was a great service that needed some help.
“They run after-school and vacation care for children and young adults who don’t have many other options, because of a disability, or behaviours of concern, and they don’t have many resources so every little bit makes a difference,” she said.
Businesses and individuals donated vouchers, scrapbooking products and other items to be raffled and auctioned on the day.
Marillac Casey Kidz Klub co-ordinator Genevieve Morgan said the organisation received $1,501.20 from the Casey Kidz Klub Crop Day.
Casey Kidz Klub merged with Marillac House, disability services operator, in February.
“We want to support as many young people and families in this area as we can, with the best service we can provide, and getting this donation will really help us,” Ms Morgan said.
The organisation will be using the donation to buy resources and equipment.
