POWERLINES in Narre Warren and Cranbourne will be inspected over the next few months as part of a high voltage power line maintenance program.
More than 1200 power poles will be checked by electricity distributor SP AusNet.
SP AusNet spokesperson Natasha Whalley said the inspections in Casey were part of the company’s overall investment in ensuring reliable electricity supply to its customers.
“Our crews will be in the area inspecting overhead and underground powerlines to fully determine the health of powerpoles, crossarms and other equipment,” she said.
“Once the inspections have been completed, any replacement or maintenance will be completed based on our inspector’s rating of the assets.”
According to Ms Whalley, some of the powerlines affected are on private property.
“Residents will be notified about maintenance works that may be required to repair them,” she said.
