AN ENDEAVOUR Hills boy was treated at Sunshine Hospital last weekend for a cut to his lower back after a stabbing incident outside a 17th birthday party.
Detectives are investigating the incident that took place in Burnside Heights on Saturday at 11pm.
Police said guests at the party in Giverny Close saw more than 50 youths gather on a vacant block opposite the property.
According to police an altercation began when the host, believing that the group were planning to try to gain entry to the party, told the youths they weren’t welcome.
Police said that during the fight, the 17-year-old and a 16-year-old boy from Hampton were both stabbed with an edged weapon, believed to be some type of knife.
The 16-year-old received a cut to the forearm and was taken to Royal Children’s Hospital. There were no other injuries or damage to property.
The youths that police believe could be from the St Albans, Sunshine and Footscray areas, fled when police were called.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
