Minister enjoys tea with seniors

HOME and community care and the Victorian Seniors Card were some of the topics discussed at last week’s Senior Citizens Community Afternoon Tea in Hampton Park.
Around 160 seniors attended the meeting at Uniting Place with Minister for Senior Victorians Lisa Neville and Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley.
Ms Graley said one of her majorpriorities as a local MP was to ensure that seniors received the servicesand support they deserved fromthe government. “My door is always open to seniors who require assistance in any matter,” she said.
Ms Neville spoke about the record funding in home and community care services for seniors in the City of Casey.
The municipality’s funding for 2008 was over $18 million.
“Last year alone, there were 92,000 delivered meals and 70,000 hours of domestic assistance in Casey under the home and community care program.”
