AROUND $10,000 worth damage was caused to a garage after a fire in Narre Warren South last Sunday.
Firefighters who were called to the Chatswood Drive property discovered the fire was contained to rubbish in the garage.
Fourth Lieutenant Damien Baker said while the initial cause of the fire was undetermined, the fire is believed to have quickly spread to nearby aerosol cans that erupted from the radiant heat.
He said there was smoke and heat damage throughout the garage.
Residents are reminded to call 000 at the first sign of a fire in or around the home.
