THE Casey community celebrated National Tree Day by planting more than 8000 trees in the municipality.
Now in its 14th year, National Tree Day has seen more than 13.4 million native trees and shrubs planted around Australia.
The City of Casey staff, along with staff from South East Water and Melbourne Water, planted around 5000 native trees at the Dandenong Reserve on Thursday 30 July.
National Tree Day is Australia’s largest community tree-planting event.
