New look plan

AFTER more than 50 years, Rowan Park House in Doveton will undergo renovations.
The Kidds Road venue was originally built as a farm house in 1951, and has since been used as a youth employment service, a medium-term housing facility for families, a women’s refuge and has been home to the Doveton Library.
The City of Casey and Doveton Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal are calling on residents of Doveton and surrounding suburbs to express their interest in being involved with the redevelopment as part of an interim management group. Funding from the City of Casey and State Government of up to $600,000 will allow for substantial renovation. Expressions of interest are being sought to fill five vacancies on an interim management group.
Those interested should demonstrate a connection to Doveton, and some interest in developing community-based activities for the house. For more information check the council website www.casey.vic.gov.au or phone the Doveton Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal on 9791 4760. Expressions of interest will be received until 5pm on Friday 28 August, 2009.
