FIRE caused considerable damage to a Berwick house on Sunday evening.
The residents of the Hillgrove Crescent home alerted firefighters at 7.35pm and reported there was a fire in the roof.
CFA units from Berwick and Beaconsfield responded to the call and found fire burning in the wall cavity above the solid fuel heater and into the roof space.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus in their efforts to stop the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not suspicious.
