POLICE are searching for two young men who attacked a taxi driver and stole fare money in Hampton Park on Monday night.
Police said that about 8.30pm, two male teenagers were picked up by a taxi near Somerville Road, Hampton Park, and driven a few kilometres to their destination.
When the taxi stopped, the rear passenger went to the driver’s window and demanded money.
The taxi driver then put his window up and the young man stabbed at the glass with a knife.
The front passenger stole the coin dispenser, which contained about $80, and used it to hit the taxi driver. The youths then ran off.
The taxi driver was not injured.
The youths are described as being about 170cm, 65kg, and aged about 15 years old.
