CAR smashes have kept Berwick firefighters busy over the past two weeks.
According to captain Alan Boyd, a driver lost control of her car along Pound Road near Grices Road on Tuesday 1 September at 6.30am.
Captain Boyd said the car spun out of control and smashed into a large row of cypress trees along the road.
The Berwick CFA crew was called out following initial reports that the car was leaking LP gas.
Firefighters inspected the wreck and made it safe.
Paramedics treated the driver and she was taken to hospital.
Captain Boyd also described Friday, 28 August, as a “shocker on Berwick roads.”
Local firefighters attended a car smash at 8.30am on the Princes Freeway near Soldiers Road.
The driver of the vehicle suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital.
According to Captain Boyd, Clyde Road was then the focus that evening, with three car crashes in the vicinity of the Princes Freeway, Berwick, in under an hour.
