Undeterred by elimination- Marijana Topalovic back home in Berwick with her four-year-old son

By Kelly Yates
AUSTRALIAN Idol hopeful Marijana Topalovic is back home in Berwick looking after her children after being eliminated from the competition.
Ms Topalovic spoke to the News this week and said she had no regrets about competing in this year’s Australian Idol and making it through to the final 24 contestants.
“It feels really good to be home,” she said. “But it is definitely sad as I was hoping to stay longer in the competition and get the opportunity to perform with the band.”
The performer auditioned for the Idol phenomenon because she wanted to take her music to the next level.
The 27-year-old, who grew up in Endeavour Hills, said she was now playing the waiting game with regard to her music career.
“I’ll just wait and see. I’ve been approached by a songwriter who is interested in doing some work with me,” she said.
“I love to sing so I will always be singing.”
Ms Topalovic attended the Victorian College of Arts for Years 9 to 12.
She says she draws her musical inspiration from her favourite singer Eva Cassidy.
“I love the fact that every time she sings she tells a different story,” she said.
Ms Topalovic, a stay-at-home mother with her two children aged, three and four, said there was a possibility she would audition for the show next year.
