CASEY residents are encouraged to apply to have a free barbecue cooked in their street this summer to meet or get to know their neighbours better.
The aim of the Casey Neighbourhood BBQs is to promote a greater connection between neighbours and encourage increased communication in the community.
If a street is chosen, all residents have to do is walk out and enjoy the free barbecue.
Casey residents who would like to have a barbecue in their street can fill out an application form and return it to the City of Casey.
Applications will be assessed according to location, the number of households in the street and level of traffic.
The City of Casey will supply the barbecue trailer, sausages, onions, bread, sauce and two officers to cook.
Residents can pick up an application form at the council’s customer service centres at Narre Warren, Narre Warren South and Cranbourne or on its caseycc@casey.vic.gov.au caseycc@casey.vic.gov.au website.
