RESIDENTS of Berwick Brae Retirement Village are taking a trip down memory lane as they gather their wedding day memorabilia for an upcoming nostalgia wedding exhibition.
Wedding gowns and delicate veils, hand crafted shoes, original invitations and photographs will be showcased in the village’s community centre for the expo from Monday 19 October.
According to Berwick Brae Retirement Village manager Arlene Coutts, resident Lesley Fletcher is displaying her mother’s hand-made wedding shoes, which were made in 1924.
Local senior clubs are invited to attend the event, which kicks off at 2pm.
Guests will be treated to a high tea at 3pm, with residents John and Mary Haysey, who have been married for more than 60 years, cutting the cake.
Entry is a gold coin donation. For details, call 9707 1261.
