TRAFFIC calming devices are needed along Saffron Drive in Narre Warren, according to Springfield Ward councillor Sam Aziz.
Cr Aziz raised the issue at last week’s council meeting after receiving several calls from local residents.
“The residents are concerned as there have been multiple car accidents along the road, particularly near the intersection of Saffron Drive and Emily Drive,” he said.
“A number of the residents are worried about risk of ongoing threats to life and damage to property.”
According to Cr Aziz, the road continues to get busier and busier.
“It’s important to address this issue as we need to make sure the council doesn’t just focus on the new parts of the city,” he said.
Council officers will investigate the possibility of installing traffic calming devices, or any other appropriate measures along Saffron Drive and report back to the council by 15 November.
