MORE than 35 wedding gowns dating back to the 1920s went on display at the Berwick Brae Retirement Village this week.
Wedding photos, original invitations and cake decorations from the 1950s filled the rooms at the village for the exhibition, with manager Arlene Coutts saying the residents enjoyed re-living their wedding-day memories.
“Some residents even kept their old receipts from their honeymoons,” she said.
“Two residents discovered that they were both married on same day, same month and in the same year in Melbourne.”
The staff at Berwick Brae Retirement Village put in a lot of work to get the expo up and running, according to Ms Coutts.
Berwick Flowers also decked out the rooms with wedding-inspired floral arrangements.
