Summer looks

By Kelly Yates
CLASHING colours is this summer’s hottest fashion trend.
Around 1000 people filled centre court in Westfield Fountain Gate last week to catch a glimpse of the latest summer looks showcased in two fashion parades at the centre’s VIP Night.
Model and dancer Peter Olsen opened Wednesday night’s show with a dance routine in tribute of Michael Jackson, wowing audiences with his Jackson moves while wearing a black sequined jacket.
The models showed the crowd that being creative and mixing colours would make any outfit a statement, whether it’s a one shoulder mini-dress or a full length sweeping maxi-dress.
Contrasting shoes to an outfit is the key this summer.
Iskra Galic paraded a peach coloured mini-dress teamed with fuchsia pink sky-high stilettos.
Bold prints, feminine fabrics and nude pastels were also some of the top trends to hit the summer runway.
Whites and beiges are once again a fresh casual look for summer, with denim back bigger than ever.
Complete any outfit with statement jewellery, big chunky belts and clutches.
For men, it was grey suits that were the key fashion item for the season.
Charcoal and metallic grey suits were teamed with crispy white shirts, thin black ties and casual sneaker-style shoes.
The fashion show ended with the models showing off some of the latest bathers and board shorts.
Westfield Fountain Gate’s VIP Night also featured specialty retailer offers and a range of free beauty demonstrations.
Shoppers were treated to a complimentary chocolate fountain and free tasting samples, facial demonstrations, and hair straightening and extension demonstrations.
The bi-annual fashion event ran from 6pm to 10pm.
