Grounds for optimism- Richard Torossi, the managing director of Bayport Group, at the new Hall

A NEW business park in Hallam, the size of the MCG, is predicted to become a thriving business hub for the south-east.
The Hallam Central Business Park was launched last Thursday, after almost 22 months of construction works.
The Wedgewood Road site, which was formerly a sand and clay quarry, is set to meet the demand for small to medium sized industrial and commercial business operators, according to Leighton Properties executive director and state manager Simon Lowe.
He said the south-east region of Melbourne was experiencing a supply shortage of smaller lots.
Mr Lowe said he was confident that the Hallam venture would promote commercial business development.
“With 50 per cent of the lots sold, and interest strong for the remaining allotments, we can see demand for industrial sites such as this within the Hallam and Cranbourne region,” he said.
The Hallam Central Business Park was a joint project between Leighton Properties, Elite Property Group, Bayport Group and Delplant, with the site being acquired from Austral Bricks for $15.25 million over two years ago.
