YEAR 12 students at Casey schools have been praised by their teachers to mark the end of their secondary education.
Carnival Day at Hallam Senior College is no Muck up Day, according to teachers at the school.
The students were treated to a range of amusement rides, sumo wrestling and a fancy dress competition last Friday and enjoyed a pizza and a barbecue lunch.
The highlight of the day was slime time, which involved the teachers and students in a slippery combat with shaving cream, water bombs and flour being the weapons of choice.
Meanwhile, in Berwick, the students at Kambrya College signed their classmate’s school uniforms during their last school assembly on Thursday.
The students also opened a time capsule, which was filled with a special item they chose back when they were in Year 7.
“It was a lot of fun for everyone. There was a real feeling of being connected to the school over the past six years,” principal Michael Muscat said.
The Year 12 students then enjoyed a picnic day on Friday in Upper Beaconsfield, where they also battled teachers in a game of laser-skirmish.
The annual valedictory dinner was held on Saturday.
Principal Michael Muscat said the traditional Muck up Day activities were absolutely out of the question at the Bemersyde Drive school.
“The school allowed that silly nonsense in 2007, but that will never be repeated again,” he said.
“If the students did, they would face the strongest consequences.”
Mr Muscat said the school was very proud that its students celebrated the end of school in what he describes as a “fun and sensible way”.
