Learning curve- Ingrid Keessen marks 20 years’

A SURPRISE celebration was held last week to mark 20 years’ service for a staff member at the Hallam Community Learning Centre.
Many old faces returned to the Kays Avenue centre to congratulate Ingrid Keessen for her dedicated service.
Ms Keessen first came to the centre with her two children in 1989, and joined the playgroup.
She was approached to join the committee of management and was elected as secretary in 1990, a role which she held until a few years ago.
Ms Keessen also volunteered her time to help out with reception and administration duties and was employed to run some of the children’s groups.
In 1999, she left the centre to find full-time work only to discover she was expecting her third child, Emily, who was born in 2000. She then returned to the centre as a playgroup mum, volunteer and once again took on the role of secretary.
Hallam Community Learning Centre manager Dianne Wilson said Ms Keessen was an integral part of the team at the centre and currently held the title of part-time administration assistant.
