Crowd gathers for remembrance

By Kelly Yates
CASEY residents honoured fallen service people when they flocked to Remembrance Day services around the municipality yesterday (Wednesday).
The Endeavour Hills service, at the Endeavour Hills War Memorial, was conducted by the Dandenong Cranbourne RSL sub branch.
Around 70 people chose the venue for their minute’s silence at the 11th hour.
Vice president of the Dandenong Cranbourne RSL Alan Harper JP led the service, with Neha Hansra and Jarred Verdan from St Paul Apostle South Primary School reading verses of The Ode.
Casey councillors Shar Balmes and Karen Baxter and Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan honoured those who served in war by laying wreaths.
Police from the Endeavour Hills police station, members from the Dandenong Army Cadets and the Casey Pipe Band were also at the service.
