Abrat art show

MORE than 100 works of art by local artist Elly Abrat and her students are being exhibited at the Narre Warren Library.
This is the eighth art exhibition that the Narre Warren artist has organised. The free exhibition, which runs until 5 December, features art including pencil, charcoal, colour pencil, oils, water colour, acrylics and pastels. An award-winning portrait artist, Ms Abrat has been teaching art for 18 years from her home studio.
Student Meredith Bowers said all of the students got an opportunity to display their pieces, with the youngest budding artist being eight years old.
Ms Bowers has been perfecting her craft with the help of Ms Abrat for around six years.
“I like to paint with oils and draw,” Ms Bowers said.
“I have four pieces on show with the themes ranging from pelicans and boats to a landscape scene. Ms Bowers is encouraging the community to come along to the exhibition.
