FIREFIGHTERS are renewing calls for parents not to leave children locked in cars.
The Narre Warren Fire Brigade recently received a call about children locked in a car at Westfield Fountain Gate.
Fourth Lieutenant Damien Baker said the car with the children locked inside had left before firefighters arrived on scene.
The brigade responded to the call with lights and sirens because of the hot weather on the day and the possibility of children overheating in a car.
“Parents and guardians need to be reminded that not only do they risk the health of a child left in a hot car, but they are placing firefighters and the public at risk as we respond to these types of calls,” he said.
