CITY of Casey’s fire prevention officer has started inspecting properties to ensure owners were complying with fire safety measures.
City of Casey community safety manager Caroline Bell said any properties identified as requiring works would be issued with either a fire prevention notice or a notice to comply.
“Reinspections of these private properties will then be undertaken to ensure compliance with the notice,” she said.
‘Problem’ properties may then be cleared by the council, at the landowner’s cost.
