FATHER and son will play off for bragging rights at the dinner table, when Neil Drummond and son Ryan compete for the Cranbourne RSL Bowls Club’s championship title this Friday.
Drummond senior has already amassed nine titles, but standing in the way of a 10th victory is son Ryan who would like nothing better than to prove himself to the “ol’ man”.
With a large crowd expected to attend the 3pm start, father and son have high expectations after defeating a quality field for the chance to be 2009/10 club champion.
In other news, Jan Coate has claimed the Victorian Lawn Bowls Association Championship after she beat Helena Rodgers in a tight final.
In front of a large crowd, Coate pulled away at the end to cap off an exciting match between the couple.
With the pennant season in recess the greens have had a lot of use with club games, social bowls coaching, and the Digger’s Day, Group 14 singles. With tournaments coming up, members are advised to check the board for details.
