Lucky three escape crash

POLICE believe speed was a factor in last weekend’s smash in which a car slammed into a tree in Narre Warren North.
Casey Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Acting Sergeant Allen Inderwisch said the collision along A’Beckett Road occurred on Sunday 10 January about 10.30pm.
Act Sgt Inderwisch said the driver, a man in his 30s from Narre Warren, was travelling west along the road when he lost control and struck a tree.
The driver and his two passengers were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Acting Sgt Inderwisch said the trio were fortunate to survive the crash. “They are very lucky.
“There was extensive damage to the vehicle and the engine was found on the opposite side of the street,” he said.
“The last thing police want is to start the new year with fatalities from avoidable collisions.”
Police are continuing investigations into the car smash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Casey Traffic Management Unit (TMU) on 5991 0600.
