JAMES Cook Primary School students Bianca Bickham, Catherine Ngin, Alex Jin and Corey Boswell are this year’s school captains.
The students were announced school captains by guest speaker Eric Wieckmann and the school council president Errol De Neise during a presentation assembly on Monday 17 February.
Principal Kathy Sharp said the captains would run school assemblies every week, meet special guests and speak at the graduation.
The house captains and members of the student representative council (SRC) also received their badges at the assembly.
“The whole of the leaders represent the student voice of the school,” Ms Sharp said.
Mr Wieckmann, also known as Captain Eric from the Christians Helping In Primary Schools program, spoke to the students about leadership.
Ms Sharp said Mr Wieckmann dazzled the assembly with fire and water tricks, demonstrating that leadership came from making something big from something little and by having a go.
