RESIDENTS are encouraged to clean up Frog Hollow Reserve in Endeavour Hills to mark Clean Up Australia Day this weekend.
The Friends of Frog Hollow group is holding the community event on Sunday 7 March from 10am to 1pm.
Volunteers should wear sturdy footwear and bring gloves on the day.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan is urging everyone who can, to get involved with Clean Up Australia Day.
“Locals are entitled to a clean environment in their backyard. It’s great to see how successful the Clean Up Australia Day campaign has been over the years,” Mr Donnellan said.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Gavin Jennings announced the State Government’s commitment to Clean Up Australia Day last week with Ian Kiernan, the chairman of Clean Up Australia Day, saying Victoria was the home of National Clean Up Australia Day this year.
“This milestone event has been awarded to Victoria largely because of the considerable volunteering efforts of all Victorians who have participated over the past 20 years. This participation demonstrates great community spirit,” Mr Jennings said.
Frog Hollow Reserve is located along David Collins Drive in Endeavour Hills.
