CONSTRUCTION work at Maramba Primary School is well underway with the new gymnasium complex set to be completed in June.
Holt MP Anthony Byrne visited the site at the Narre Warren school last week with principal Andrew Groh and site manager Mick Bullows.
The gymnasium complex features a full size basketball court, canteen, an additional music room with indoor and outdoor stage areas, and a drama room.
“This is a landmark project at Maramba Primary School. The gym complex will provide a modern facility for physical education and performing arts for students and have the space to hold whole of school assemblies each week,” Mr Byrne said.
“The steelwork for the gymnasium complex is going up and the next milestone will be ‘lock-up’ stage.”
The new school gym, which scored $3 million from the Rudd Government’s Primary Schools for the 21st Century Program, will be available for community use after school hours.
