Time to reward quiet helpers

NOMINATIONS are open for the 2010 Casey Volunteer Awards.
The awards aim to honour and recognise individuals who have contributed to the development of the Casey community, or have had a positive impact on the quality of life of City of Casey residents through their volunteering efforts.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said the awards provided an opportunity for volunteers to be recognised for their dedicated and selfless service to the community.
“Volunteers come in many forms, from high profile community members to the quiet achievers within the community who go about their service without any thought of reward,” Cr Wreford said.
“It’s important to publicly recognise and say thank you to Casey’s volunteers because whether we realise it or not, we are all touched by the efforts of volunteers through the lifestyle and services we enjoy in our city.”
All eligible nominees will be recognised at an awards night in May.
Awards will be presented to individuals who contribute to the community through voluntary efforts as well as to a community group, organisation or business that is involved in volunteering.
Nominations close on Wednesday 31 March.
For a nomination form or more details call the City of Casey customer service on 9705 5200.
